Mask Mouth?

A mouth cancer question briefly pondered

In analyzing various types of neoplasms, one type, few in incidents, caught the attention of this author. People have theorized about the effects of long-term mask wearing. Is there a connection to mouth cancer? Here’s some data. There are no answers in this article - only questions. Wear a mask if you want, but you’re not protecting yourself from anything but sanity and intelligence.

The upper table shows the number of records involving ICD-10 code C069 “Malignant neoplasm: Mouth, unspecified” for each of years 2015-2021. The 7-year dataset is {28, 29, 30, 33, 30, 39, 45}. Before looking at any math results, simply look across those numbers. 2020 and 2021 are significantly greater. The range of 2015-2019 is 28 to 33. Why then are 2020 at 39 and 2021 at a whopping 45?

One might say that the numbers are quite low and anomalies are going to happen in a 7 point set. True. But it does make you wonder what is going on two years in a row in which people were masked, had covid, and had C19 “vaccine”.

The total deaths 2015-2021 dataset is {58,764; 57,883; 59,739; 60,048; 59,616; 68,944; 63,893}.

The top table shows an excess of 20.4% by TREND method (least squares linear approximation) to 30.0% by AVERAGE method in 2020; and it shows an excess of 35.5% by TREND method to 50.0% by AVERAGE method in 2021. However, those might be inflated by the fact that more people died in 2020 & 2021 as noted in the total deaths dataset provided. Perhaps elderly have mouth cancers and more of them just happen to die from covid in the past two years.

The second table accounts for greater number of deaths in 2020 and 2021. First, each year is adjusted for total deaths by taking the number of C069 deaths as a percent of total deaths. Then, AVERAGE and TREND methods are applied to the percents for each year. There is only modest excess in 2020 at 5.3% to 11.7%, but excess nonetheless, while there is a ridiculously large 28.7% to 39.1% excess in 2021 even after adjusting for a greater number of total deaths. Given that cancers take a while to form and grow, the effects of 2020 masking beginning with the May 6, 2020 order would likely show in 2021 data. This also explains the merely modest increase in 2020.

You can decide whether this is significant and what the cause may be. No one will ever provide evidence to a standard of clear and convincing or beyond reasonable doubt. However, some jury may believe this to contribute to a preponderance of evidence, which is all that is needed to win a suit in tort. Combining this data with an expert who will testify that some of the materials in masks are carcinogens would be quite compelling.

Thank you for reading this brief article. Curiosity compels investigation when lives are lost. And the estimation of lives lost is between 6.6 and 15.0 as depicted in the top table on the far right. That is not insignificant if it is your loved one.

Or masks may have nothing to do with it. Who knows?
