I was a physician at a Brigham-associated major hospital (not MGH, and not BIDMC) in the Longwood area, and since ~2010 started refusing the flu shot. Then I needed an exemption (~2014), which I got from my PCP. Then in 2018 they got aggressive, and refused my medical exemption and I refused to give further documentation. They then refused new religious exemption, and in late 2019 they fired me for not taking the flu shot. A physician in good standing since 2006, fired in 2019. Later I realized it was just warm-up for them for covid. I didn't realize there were such high financial incentives for hospitals and executives for the flu shot uptake.
It was rather comical in HR with the nurses there. They wanted me to take the Flumist intranasal 'flu shot'. I knew recipients could spread infectious virus particles for 2-3 weeks after it, told them this, and asked them if I needed to wear a mask in elevators or hallways (I was research laboratory-based and had 0% patient contact). They said no. I asked them if they were concerned I would spread infectious agents to cancer patients in the elevators. They looked at me blankly. Obedience and uptake is what they wanted, or were told to achieve, from up on high.
Oh my gosh, over the flu shot! Good for you for sticking to your principles, and I'm sorry that happened to you I was a physical therapist here in California and refused the flu shot. I had to take some rinky dink course that another employee put together. I took the stupid course and still refused the shot. Then I met with the creator of this course and pressed her on the evidence for the courses claims, then showed her that there was none. She got very defensive, and knew she had no idea what she was talking about! I eventually left over the covid shot even though HR told me I coukd lie and say I was refusing it for religious reasons, which I refused to lie about; I was refusing it over risk benefit calculation that overwhelmingly did not support taking that injection.
I did take one flu shot in my adult life, and I had one absolutely terrible flu in my adult life. My guest it was the year I took that damn shot - if so I didn't connect it at the time, but I'm not quite sure anyway.
I was so mad when California tried to require the flu shot of young people entering college here. They really want these drugs in our bodies - it's creepy!
I had overall 3-4 short consulting opportunities that worked out well, with researchers I worked with at the original hospital, who happened to be at other institutions and needed project work done. One became permanent part-time 3-4 years ago and I'm still there. All were/are remote work, and none bothered me about 'vaccination status'.
I was doing clinical training (0% patient contact). I've moved on to other interests with occasional training opportunities in a different state. It was a difficult time including non-recoverable income loss.
Aren't intranasal vaccines questionably safe because the chemical constituents are absorbed by tissues where the nerves leading from the cribriform plate pass directly into the brain?
Not the place I would wish to introduce an artificially constructed immunological challenge.

It is very difficult and disturbing to come to terms with how readily human beings are compromised and complicit in evil. I do not see that this can be stopped or reformed. We have to try to preserve what is left uncorrupted and hope this will eventually reconfigure into an entirely new social and political structure.
Our governments are no longer legitimate and have lost their lawful authority. They are illegal associations of criminals complicit in genocide.

I don't care as much about the amount she made as I do about how she made it. Execs are compensated more by variable compensation in bonuses than by salary. It used yo be by stock options 40 years ago, but there was stock price manipulation as a result. That's why the varcomp shifted to bonuses based on some metrics set by the exec comp committee. MGB is nonprofit and not like the public copies I just mentioned, but it seems nonprofits went yhe same way as public companies in varcomp schema. She had to hit certain objective targets to get her varcomp bonus. She made far more than target one year. What was that target? Was it vax rate? Did she get the $2 million extra bonus because MGB got $2 million from the state for having the top 4 most vaxed hospitals? That would be really interesting to know. "Nonprofit" my ass. Did she get paid an extra $2 million for terminating hundreds of people because their sincerely held religious beliefs precludes taking the covid vax or because they had an allergy to PEG or another component in the covid vaxes? MGB knowingly told people to take something that could kill them. This is a documented fact. They knew of PEG allergy in some people and then told those specific people to take the jab.
@John Do you know if there were incentive programs for hospitals in other states to receive federal monies? This would be very helpful information to have.

In health I witnessed these numbers myself! I wasn't working, because i refused. and I have friends, that were let go for the same reason. Courts refuse to hear civil rights violation cases. They dismiss them all. Long story. But this wqs to be used to prove state actor status.
