A very apt expression on why I think AI is dumbing down our society. The grey matter in our heads needs to be exercised to remain active and resilient.
AI may have a place in analyzing complex scientific research but for everyday communication with others, it’s just dumbing us down!
In an X space, there is a guy with whom I debated AI. He thinks it makes you smarter. We put it to the test. It got everything wrong that I asked. But it learned. Then it got it right. The other guy considers it intelligent because it put the information I provided in some look-up table somewhere. But the point you make is perfect. This guy gets dumber as he uses AI instead of thinking and remembering all by his lonely old brain.
Have you ever thought of running your writing through a readability program?
One on line program found that your sample scored 14.46. This means that only professionals who read at the college level will be able to understand what you wrote. If this is your intended audience, you will be fine.
Chat GPT didn't do much better.
I think if you run most best sellers through a program like this, you will find that the target audience reads at about the 8th grade level.
Honestly, Peggy, I know much is difficult to understand and I do bring it down for other audiences. My best was talking to a group at a pub for an hour and taking questions afterward. Mostly tradesmen and service industry people. That was one of the best experiences. They got everything I was saying. No technical medical terms. Just dead person, not decedent. And not thrombi, but big ole clots.
The U.S. Courts’ "habitual dismissal culture" is imo a mafia regime imposed on the courts through blackmail. It is captured territory in the Omniwar. You demonstrate so well exactly why the courts are the high ground that must be taken back by We The People. Of course this must be done through peaceful means. Somehow.
“Globally, the ruling classes have no choice but to join forces and push for a world state /global dictatorship, while the rest of humanity has no choice but worldwide social revolution if it wishes to avoid permanent subjugation”. writes Hughes.
I want nothing to do with artificial intelligence, so I didn’t read that part. I prefer real people saying things from their own heads and/or hearts than anything a computer might spit out.
I recently watched a video in which a sad story was told about a boy being convinced by “artificial intelligence” to commit suicide. He tried several times before finally succeeding. His “conversations” with the computer had apparently all been saved and they quoted sections of it. Very scary stuff. Many in the comments said they thought it was demonic, and I don’t disagree. It is evil. Oh, I know … anything can be used for good or evil - it depends what you do with it …. Well, no thanks. I want no part of it. I live a simple, natural life. If I had my druthers, I’d rather go back to the good old days without computers and cell phones - when you could have a conversation with people without them constantly grabbing and looking at their phones when you’re talking to them. When spending time with real people and doing real things were the norm. “Artificial intelligence” is one more giant step away from how I wish life was.
(For many years, “AI” has meant artificial insemination, so I like to be precise on which “AI” I’m referring to.)
If the Carmelite nuns were still alive, I’d thank them. Although, it was Mrs. Johnson the lay teacher who taught me English sentence structure (diagramming a sentence) in 7th grade.
If you don’t use it, you lose it!

I used AI today against a company who loves to dumb us down ! Not so stupid now .
I am assuming you used your God given brainpower to do so, good for you!
Thank you , lets see the outcome !

LOL. Wow. I’ll take that as a compliment.

your AI 'friend' is probably a psychopath.
